Easy Salted Caramel Apple Galette

  • 1 pie crust
  • 4-5 apples peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 15 caramels
  • 2 tsp. cream
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg beaten for egg wash
  • 1-2 tbsp. coarse sugar crystals

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the apples and saute until they start to soften, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut sugar, and lemon juice. Continue cooking, stirring periodically to prevent burning, for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and set aside. Lay the pie crust on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • Place the caramels, salt and cream in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds at a time, stirring until melted. Pour half the caramel mixture on the pie crust and spread.
  • Pour the apple mixture on top, leaving about 23 inches at the edge of the crust, and drizzle with the remaining melted caramel.
  • Fold up the edges around the apple mixture. Brush the edges with egg wash and sprinkle with the coarse granulated sugar.
  • Bake for 40 minutes. Remove and let cool fully before slicing.
